Our focus is on creating purpose-built neighborhoods that blend single-family rental homes with premium amenities and professional property management to offer a high-quality living experience for residents. Our mission is to develop, acquire and aggregate a 5,000 unit BTR portfolio with over $1.5 billion of nominal value in the next 48 months.

MCP is seeking a Chief of Staff / Head of Administration who will provide high-level administrative and operational support to the Charleston-based managing partner and the MCP investment platform. This role blends operations, strategy, and project management to maintain office organization and investment platform operations, managing communication and scheduling, and ensuring the smooth execution of professional priorities and supporting investment activities. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, discreet, and capable of handling confidential information with integrity. This is an in-office position based in Charleston.
A summary of key attributes / responsibilities include:Executive & Office Support
Serve as the first point of contact for internal and external communications with the Partner and team.
Manage and prioritize complex calendars, meetings, and travel arrangements across multiple time zones.
Prepare, review, and submit monthly expense reports for the Partner via Expensify, ensuring accurate coding, receipts, and timely reconciliation with accounting.
Handle confidential correspondence and documents with professionalism and discretion.
Prepare agendas, meeting materials, and follow-up summaries for key internal and external meetings.
Communication & Coordination
Ensure the Partner is well-prepared for meetings, calls, and travel with all relevant materials in advance.
Draft and send professional correspondence, reports, and updates on behalf of the Partner.
Liaise with fund and project investors, consultants, legal counsel, lenders, and other third parties on behalf of the Partner.
Investor & Project Administration
Support the investor relations process, including organizing and distributing quarterly and annual investor communications, K-1s, and updates via investor portal.
Support the capital markets team by supporting CRM and document management systems updates.
Coordinate with accounting and development teams to track deliverables and timelines for reporting.
Coordinate with internal teams and outside counsel to support financial closings by organizing execution packages, tracking legal deliverables, maintaining version control of key documents and ensuring timely completion of required items.
Legal & Human Resources
Manage HR functions including onboarding, training and legal compliance.
Strategic Planning & Office Management
Manage or support high-priority projects that require cross-functional collaboration.
Plan and coordinate internal and external events including off-sites, investor meetings, and company gatherings.
Manage day-to-day office logistics, supplies, and vendor relationships to ensure a professional work environment.
Support onboarding and coordination for new employees and visitors.
The ideal candidate has the following characteristics, skills and or qualifications:
5–7 years of administrative and/or operations experience supporting business operations and senior executives, preferably in real estate, legal, or investment environments.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Development project finance closing experience with project stakeholders and documentation across lenders and equity investors
Executive-level communication and presentation development
Knowledge of corporate governance and compliance
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Expresses ideas and thoughts both verbally and in written form with disparate stakeholders, investors, team members, and managers.
Strong organizational skills.
Critical Thinking. Open-minded, gathers relevant information, raises questions and communicates effectively regarding problems and solutions.
High emotional intelligence and discretion
Organizational agility and executive presence
Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, Drive) and general comfort with cloud-based tools and CRM/HR/investor portal applications, including Rippling, Copper, Appfolio, Expensify, Slack.
Comfortable in a small, relatively unstructured office environment.
Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in business administration or a related field
Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent advanced degree preferred
Prior experience working closely with C-level executives
Familiarity with industry-specific compliance or regulatory requirements
Professional writing or communications background, especially in executive communications

Role / Title: Director of Construction

MCP is seeking a Director of Construction who is responsible for managing the entire construction process from the initial design through vertical construction. This position guides projects from early design, through construction while maintaining MCP’s budget, implementing phasing and contracting requirements and keeping the team on schedule. This position works closely with Architects, Engineers, General Contractors and the MCP Development team. In this role you may be required to travel up to 25% of the time.
A summary of core responsibilities include:Predevelopment & Due Diligence
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of deal structure, execution strategy, and phasing to ensure alignment with pro forma assumptions and financial targets.
Analyze due diligence reports (geotechnical, environmental, traffic, and utility studies) to identify design or cost implications prior to land closing or contract execution.
Review civil engineering documents and building plans for accuracy and constructability.
Provide constructability and pricing feedback during conceptual and schematic design to guide cost-effective vertical and horizontal construction solutions.
Review phasing and turnover plans early in design to confirm site logistics, access, and construction sequencing will not introduce schedule delays.
Pre-Construction & Contracting
Lead all pre-construction activities, including bidding, value engineering, scope leveling, and schedule development.
Conduct detailed AIA contract and GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) reviews, ensuring clarity of scope, cost transparency, risk allocation, and owner protections.
Support internal initiatives to standardize cost benchmarking, bid evaluation methods, and contractor qualification processes.
Construction Oversight
Serve as the Owner’s Representative during OAC (Owner–Architect–Contractor) meetings, maintaining active oversight of contractor performance and change exposure.
Actively manage and coordinate the sitework contractor, including oversight of grading, utilities, stormwater, roadways, and erosion control activities to ensure compliance with plans, schedule, and budget.
Oversee vertical construction through project execution including draw review, RFI and submittal management, change order review, and field progress tracking.
Maintain relationships with inspectors, municipalities, and utility providers to facilitate timely approvals and service connections.
Track and report hard cost exposure and schedule variances across all active projects.
Project Close-Out
Manage all close-out deliverables, including as-built survey coordination, utility commissioning, warranty tracking, and owner acceptance walks.
Ensure compliance with loan and joint-venture documentation requirements at completion and project turnover.
Ongoing & Organizational Responsibilities
Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively oversee multiple projects in varying stages of design and construction.
Participate in formal business development presentations, communicating the value of MCP’s pre-construction and land development expertise to prospective clients and partners.
Foster collaboration across internal teams to promote efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement in development operations.
The ideal candidate has the following characteristics, skills and or qualifications:
7-10 years of experience within a construction environment, working with large institutional projects.
Proven experience managing all phases of horizontal and vertical construction for residential projects.
Ability to oversee general contractors, civil engineers, architects, and specialty consultants to ensure alignment with project budgets, schedules, value-engineering goals, and municipal requirements.
Strong understanding of land development processes including wetlands, utilities, permitting, entitlements, traffic coordination, and inspections.
Skilled in reviewing and approving construction drawings, site plans, VE proposals, shop drawings, and monthly pay applications.
Experience leading OAC meetings and coordinating across multiple active construction sites simultaneously.
Deep knowledge of construction sequencing, RFI and submittal management, and QA/QC best practices to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
Ability to forecast and manage project cash flows, draw schedules, change orders, and construction risk items.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with field teams and trade partners; helps maintain MCP’s reputation for reliability, responsiveness, and professionalism.
Hands-on problem solver who can visit sites, walk projects, resolve field conflicts, and provide actionable direction quickly.
Strong organizational skills. Manage deadlines and project priorities, allocate resources efficiently, communicate clearly across teams, and effectively juggle multiple ongoing projects.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, or Business Administration is preferred.
Valid Drivers' License Required
Located in Charleston, SC but must have the ability to travel as needed to MCP markets in the Southeast.
